Former Greece finance minister Yanis Varoufakis is one of four powerful speakers against austerity at a PCS public meeting in Brighton on 13 September.
Renowned economist Varoufakis is likely to be a popular draw at our TUC Congress fringe meeting chaired by PCS president Janice Godrich, which starts at 8pm and will debate alternatives to austerity.
Since 2010 PCS has been the leading trade union voice arguing for an alternative to austerity, based on public investment, tax justice and equality.
The other speakers are:
- PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka
- MP John McDonnell, Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour leadership election campaign manager
- Caroline Lucas – Green party MP.
Venue: Corn Exchange in Church Street, BN1 1UE.
